Wipro Announces Leadership Transition: Srini Pallia Appointed as CEO and Managing Director

Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO) proudly announced the appointment of Srini Pallia as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. This strategic move is effective immediately, with Pallia taking over from Thierry Delaporte who has decided to step down after a transformative four-year tenure at the helm of the technology and consulting giant.

Srini Pallia, a Wipro veteran of over thirty years, steps into the CEO role after his successful leadership stint as CEO of Americas 1, Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing market. During his tenure, Pallia significantly boosted market shares across diverse industry sectors by spearheading visionary growth strategies and fostering robust client relationships. His longstanding service includes key roles such as President of Wipro’s Consumer Business Unit and Global head of Business Application Services, contributing deeply to the company’s strategic and operational advancements.

Rishad Premji, Chairman of Wipro Ltd., expressed his confidence in Pallia’s leadership, stating, “Srini is an ideal leader to lead Wipro at this pivotal moment for our company and industry. His commitment to our values and his profound understanding of our operations and challenges prepare him well to steer Wipro through its next chapter of growth and profitability.”

On his succession, Srini Pallia commented, “I am excited to build on the strong foundation established by Thierry and lead Wipro on its next growth trajectory. We are poised for future growth with the right strategy and a tremendous team.”

Thierry Delaporte reflected on his time at Wipro, noting the significant milestones achieved and his confidence in Pallia’s capabilities to propel the company forward.

Pallia, who holds an engineering degree and a master’s in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, as well as credentials from Harvard Business School’s Leading Global Businesses program, will base his operations in New Jersey, directly reporting to Chairman Rishad Premji.
