In this position, he will lead adidas’ NBA sports marketing strategy, athlete partnerships, league relationships, team collaborations, and brand-building initiatives across professional basketball.
Having spent seven years with adidas, Aneesh’s promotion reflects his significant contributions to the company’s basketball marketing efforts and his success in building strategic partnerships across the global basketball ecosystem.
Prior to his appointment as Director, NBA Sports Marketing, Aneesh Ahuja served as Senior Manager, Sports Marketing – Men’s Basketball Lead, where he oversaw relationships with athletes, teams, and league stakeholders while helping drive adidas’ basketball marketing strategy. In this role, he played a key part in strengthening the brand’s presence within professional basketball and expanding its influence across the sport.
Earlier, he served as Sports Marketing Strategy and Partnerships Lead (Athletes, Teams, Leagues) – NBA & WNBA, where he was responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships across both men’s and women’s professional basketball. During this period, he worked closely with athletes, franchises, and league officials to build impactful collaborations that enhanced adidas’ visibility and engagement with basketball communities.
Before that, Aneesh held the role of NBA Partnerships | Global Basketball Sports Marketing, where he contributed to global basketball initiatives, league partnerships, athlete endorsement strategies, and brand activation programs. His work helped strengthen adidas’ position within the highly competitive basketball marketplace while supporting the company’s long-term sports marketing objectives.
Prior to joining adidas, Aneesh worked with Troika as an Associate Account Executive, where he gained valuable experience in brand strategy, partnership management, client services, and sports marketing execution. This early exposure provided a strong foundation for his subsequent success within the global sports industry.
Over the years, Aneesh has built expertise in athlete marketing, sponsorship strategy, league partnerships, brand storytelling, relationship management, sports business development, and global basketball marketing.
