Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, August 2026 — Tata Electronics has promoted Akul Agrawal to Vice President, Head of Business Operations & Strategy, recognizing his leadership in driving operational excellence, business strategy, and large-scale manufacturing transformation within the company’s fast-growing electronics business.
In his expanded role, Akul will continue to lead Business Operations & Strategy for one of the world’s largest greenfield components manufacturing plants serving a leading global electronics device company. He is responsible for end-to-end business performance, including P&L ownership, enterprise cost transformation, business development, strategic planning, innovation, AI roadmap enablement, digital transformation, pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, program management, manufacturing excellence, supply chain operations, administration, facilities, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Akul joined Tata Electronics in 2024 as Assistant Vice President, Head of Business Operations & Strategy, where he played a pivotal role in establishing strategic operating frameworks for one of the company’s flagship manufacturing facilities. His promotion to Vice President reflects his significant contributions to scaling operations, strengthening business performance, and supporting Tata Electronics’ ambition to become a global leader in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
Prior to joining Tata Electronics, Akul spent more than 14 years with Applied Materials, where he served as Director, Engineering Management. During his tenure, he led a Global Capability Center of more than 1,000 employees, driving new product introduction (NPI) across semiconductor and display businesses, enterprise-wide cost optimization, global capability transitions, digital transformation, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness. He also earned recognition as a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in advancing disability inclusion initiatives.
Akul holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) and has completed the Executive Leadership Development Program at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore).
