New Delhi, Delhi, India, July 2026 — Rungta Tea Private Limited has recently appointed Sanjay Kumar Bhatia as General Manager — Sales for North India, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The appointment comes as the New Delhi-headquartered tea brand accelerates its regional expansion strategy, with North India identified as a priority growth corridor in its roadmap to achieve 50% turnover growth by 2027.

Mr. Bhatia brings 40 years of experience in the FMCG sector to the role. Most recently serving as Deputy General Manager at Fena Private Limited, he oversaw a North India business of Rs 800 crore, managing a network of 450 distributors and a team of over 300 people. His career spans four decades of building and scaling ground-level sales operations across some of India’s most competitive consumer markets, giving him a depth of trade knowledge and distributor management expertise that is directly aligned with the growth demands of Rungta Tea’s current expansion phase

In his new role, Mr. Bhatia will be responsible for strengthening Rungta Tea’s distribution presence across North India, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, deepening relationships with existing trade partners, and identifying new opportunities for market penetration across the region. His appointment reflects the company’s commitment to building a senior leadership layer that can support the depth and pace of its current expansion phase.

Girjesh Rungta, Founder and Managing Director, Rungta Tea

“We are delighted to welcome Sanjay Kumar Bhatia to the Rungta Tea family. North India is a market we are deeply committed to, and having the right leadership in place is essential to the kind of growth we are pursuing. Mr. Bhatia’s understanding of the region and its trade dynamics makes him exactly the right person to lead this charge.” — Girjesh Rungta, Founder and Managing Director, Rungta Tea

“Joining Rungta Tea is an exciting new chapter, and I’m bringing maximum energy to this role. Our focus for the region is clear: absolute market penetration across North India. We are going to develop a premier distribution network that places Rungta Tea products in every outlet, laying the groundwork to achieve an ambitious 50% growth target.” — Sanjay Kumar Bhatia, General Manager — Sales, North India, UP and Uttarakhand, Rungta Tea

The appointment is the latest in a series of strategic moves by Rungta Tea as it consolidates its position across North and East India before pursuing broader national scale. With operations currently spanning West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Delhi NCR, the company has consistently prioritised building the right leadership infrastructure before expanding its geographic footprint, a philosophy that has underpinned its 25-year record of sustainable, trust-driven growth.
