Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — JioBlackRock Mutual Fund has announced the appointment of Rajiv Chhabria as Chief Business Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to build a next-generation asset management business that combines global investment expertise with digital-first innovation.
Rajiv joins JioBlackRock with nearly 22 years of experience across India’s financial services and asset management industry. Announcing the appointment, the company highlighted his proven track record of building and scaling institutional and distribution businesses, developing strategic partnerships with banks, wealth management firms, and national distributors, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable business growth. As Chief Business Officer, he will lead the company’s business growth agenda, working closely across Sales, Marketing, and Active Products to expand JioBlackRock’s reach and deliver innovative investment solutions to investors across India.
Prior to joining JioBlackRock Mutual Fund, Rajiv spent 15 years at Sundaram Asset Management Co. Ltd., where he most recently served as Deputy Chief Business Officer (CBO). During his tenure, he progressed through several leadership roles including National Head – Strategic Alliances (Banks, Wealth & National Distributors) and Institutional Business, National Head (Vice President) – Distribution & Business Alliances, Senior Assistant Vice President – Distribution & Retail Sales, and Assistant Vice President – Distribution & Products. Across these roles, he played a pivotal role in expanding distribution networks, strengthening institutional relationships, building strategic alliances, and driving business growth across retail and institutional channels.
Earlier in his career, Rajiv served in Channel Sales – IFA & National Distribution at Daiwa Asset Management (India) Pvt. Ltd., where he strengthened intermediary and distribution partnerships. He began his asset management career at Principal Mutual Fund, working in Business Analytics & Technology, where he developed expertise in business intelligence, analytics, and technology-enabled business processes that would later support his commercial and strategic leadership journey.
As Chief Business Officer, Rajiv will lead JioBlackRock Mutual Fund’s commercial growth strategy, strengthen nationwide distribution capabilities, deepen relationships with institutional and wealth partners, accelerate market expansion, and help shape innovative investment offerings for retail and institutional investors. His extensive experience spanning business strategy, distribution, strategic alliances, institutional sales, and business technology positions him well to support JioBlackRock’s ambition of redefining India’s investment landscape.
Education: Rajiv Chhabria holds an MBA from SPJIMR (S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research), one of India’s leading management institutions. His academic foundation, combined with over two decades of leadership experience in asset management, distribution strategy, and institutional business development, has equipped him to lead JioBlackRock Mutual Fund’s next phase of growth.
