Gurugram, Haryana, India, September 2025 – Souvik Sarkar has been appointed as Head of Human Resources at Devyani International Limited (DIL), a leading Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operator and the largest franchisee of Yum Brands in India. In his new role, Souvik will lead the organization’s people strategy, talent management, and employee experience across DIL’s expansive retail and food services footprint.
Prior to joining DIL, Souvik had a distinguished four-year tenure at Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd., where he served in multiple leadership roles, including Vice President and Head – HR, Training and Performance Management for Domino’s India. He was instrumental in shaping the HR agenda for over 6,500 employees, driving initiatives around performance, capability building, and workforce readiness.
Before that, he held a short yet impactful role as Director HR at Rupeek, where he focused on building foundational people practices in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Souvik spent nearly six years at Airtel, where he led several strategic HR functions, including as GM and Head – HR Technology, Analytics and Shared Services. He also served as GM and HR Head – Homes (TNL) and DGM and Circle HR Head, managing HR for business units across regions like West Bengal and Odisha. His work was recognized both nationally and internationally for key digital HR interventions.
Souvik’s earlier experience includes a five-year stint with Citi, where he worked across multiple business verticals such as Citi@Work, Branch Banking, and Sales & Distribution, managing HR operations, employee relations, and disciplinary processes across diverse geographies. He began his career at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, where he led talent acquisition across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and played a key role in employer branding initiatives.
With over 15 years of experience in retail, telecom, BFSI, and fintech sectors, Souvik brings a strong blend of operational depth and strategic vision to his new role at DIL.
