Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, April 2025 – Sushil Barkur has joined Intas Pharmaceuticals as Head – Training & Development, where he will lead the organization’s learning culture transformation, drive capability building, and oversee change management through strategic organizational development initiatives. He will also focus on talent development and succession planning across the enterprise as Intas continues its global growth journey.
Prior to joining Intas, Sushil Barkur was Head – Learning & Organizational Development at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, where he led a group-wide initiative to establish a strong learning culture. He was responsible for improving productivity through structured learning interventions, identifying and developing internal talent, and supporting organizational transformation.
Previously, Sushil served for over 13 years at Alkem Laboratories Ltd, where he rose through the ranks to become Associate Vice President – L&D, TM, and OD. During his tenure, he integrated L&D with talent management frameworks, spearheaded 360-degree feedback programs, launched Alkem Learning Academy, implemented change management and employee engagement programs, and collaborated with top institutes like ISB, IIM Ahmedabad, and SPJIMR. He also led the transformation that earned Alkem the “Great Place to Work” certification three years in a row.
Earlier, he held leadership roles at Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited as AGM – Training, where he designed management development programs and oversaw end-to-end training for field forces. His earlier experience at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd as AGM – Training included designing training architecture for Acute Therapy sales and implementing impactful capability-building strategies across levels.
Sushil began his corporate training journey with Nicholas Piramal India Ltd as Business Training Manager – East Zone and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as SBE – S-Team, where he was involved in concept selling, field coaching, and establishing training systems for specialty care. He started his career at Zydus as a Territory Business Officer, laying the foundation for his transition into the training domain.
