Abbott India announces the appointment of Swati Dalal as the Additional Director and Managing Director, effective April 1, 2024.
This significant leadership transition follows the board meeting held on March 13, 2024. Dalal, who is also recognized as Key Managerial Personnel from the same date, brings to the table over three decades of extensive experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
She has been an integral part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council at Abbott India and a founding member of the ‘Women Leaders of Abbott’ in India.
Swati Dalal’s journey with Abbott India began in 1995, marking a career filled with leadership roles that have significantly contributed to the company’s growth. Prior to her new appointment, she served as the General Manager of the Established Pharmaceuticals Division’s (EPD) Primary Care business since May 2023. Her tenure at Abbott has been marked by strategic leadership in various capacities, including leading Abbott’s Nutrition business in India since 2020.
Dalal’s academic background, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master’s in Management Studies (Marketing), has laid a solid foundation for her exemplary career. Before joining Abbott, Dalal enriched her experience with notable contributions at Knoll Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Wockhardt Ltd.
Dalal’s role as Managing Director is set for a tenure of three years, concluding on March 31, 2027. Her extensive experience and dynamic leadership are expected to drive Abbott India’s mission and vision forward, ensuring continued success and innovation in the healthcare sector.
