Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2026 — Tata Communications has appointed Siddhartha Mundra as Chief Financial Officer – Designate, effective February 23, 2026. He will formally assume the role of Chief Financial Officer on May 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition for the global digital ecosystem enabler.
Siddhartha joins the executive leadership team following an impactful tenure as Vice President at TATA SONS LIMITED, where he was part of the Group CFO and Group Strategy Office. In this role, he played a key part in shaping the financial and strategic direction of the broader Tata Group, contributing to enterprise-wide financial stewardship and long-term growth planning.
Prior to Tata Sons, Siddhartha served as Chief Executive Officer at Shankara Building Products Limited, leading the listed retailer and distributor of building materials through significant growth phases. His association with the company spanned over a decade, first as an investor through Fairwinds Private Equity and later as a member of the leadership team, giving him a unique blend of investment insight and operational execution.
Earlier, he spent nearly nine years as Director at Fairwinds Private Equity, part of the founding team of the firm (formerly Reliance Private Equity prior to a management buyout). He also served as Associate Vice President at ICICI Venture, one of India’s leading private equity fund managers, where he strengthened his expertise in investments, capital allocation, and value creation strategies.
Siddhartha began his professional journey as a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems, building a strong technical foundation before transitioning into finance and strategy. This combination of analytical rigor, operational leadership, and investment acumen positions him well to lead the global financial agenda of Tata Communications.
He holds a Post-Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, where he was a Gold Medalist.
With his diverse experience across private equity, corporate strategy, and operational leadership, Siddhartha is set to guide Tata Communications through its next phase of global digital expansion and financial transformation.
