Denton, Texas, United States, September 2024 – Tony S. has taken on a new role as the Chief Human Resources & People Officer at Texas Woman’s University (TWU). In this position, he will oversee the university’s human resources strategy, drive organizational change, and champion initiatives that support the institution’s diverse workforce across its campuses in Denton, Dallas, and Houston.
Before joining TWU, Tony served as Assistant Vice Chancellor & Chief Human Resources Officer at the University of North Texas at Dallas, where he was responsible for leading HR operations, ensuring compliance, and enhancing employee engagement during his tenure of approximately 2 years. His leadership was instrumental in modernizing HR practices and creating a collaborative workplace environment.
Prior to that, he worked as the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources & Talent Management at Lamar University for nearly 2 years. In this role, Tony played a critical part in enhancing talent acquisition, streamlining HR processes, and fostering employee development initiatives.
He also held the position of Vice President of Human Resources & Organizational Change Management at Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. for approximately 5 years in San Antonio, Texas. During this time, he led the HR team and implemented large-scale organizational change initiatives that significantly improved workforce operations.
Earlier in his career, Tony was the Chief Human Resources Officer at National Nursing & Rehab for 1 year, followed by 9 years as the Director of Human Resources at Tenet Healthcare – St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. His extensive experience in HR leadership has made him a trusted leader in healthcare and education sectors.
