New York, United States, March 2025 – Trish Patton has taken on a new role as Chief Human Resource Officer at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she will lead the museum’s HR vision, policies, and strategic workforce initiatives in support of its mission to champion 20th- and 21st-century American art.
Patton joins the Whitney after serving for over four years as Chief People Officer at Saks Fifth Avenue Stores (SFA), where she led large-scale HR transformations and aligned talent strategies with business objectives. Her role involved overseeing HR operations, leadership development, and cultural initiatives for one of the most recognized names in luxury retail.

Before SFA, she worked for nearly four years as Vice President of Human Resources at The Body Shop, where she focused on advancing inclusion and developing HR frameworks that supported global retail operations and sustainability values.
Earlier, Patton held several senior HR leadership roles at Hudson’s Bay Company, including Vice President, Human Resources – Corporate and VP, Saks Fifth Avenue Stores, where she supported more than 8,000 associates. She played a pivotal role in union negotiations, executive coaching, and leadership succession planning across Saks’ flagship and full-line stores.
She began her leadership journey at Saks Incorporated, spending over six years in roles including Senior Director of HR/Training & Development and Director of HR/Training, where she led recruitment, training, organizational development, and diversity initiatives.
