Basel, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, January 2026 – Universitäre Altersmedizin FELIX PLATTER has announced the appointment of Ueli Zehnder as Chief Human Resources Officer, strengthening its Executive Board as the institution continues to expand its leadership capabilities across Switzerland’s leading university-affiliated geriatric medicine ecosystem. In his new role, Ueli will lead HR transformation, digital HR strategy, leadership development and workforce planning to support the organisation’s growing clinical, research and academic operations.
Prior to joining FELIX PLATTER, Ueli served for nearly three years as Chief Human Resources Officer at Bethesda Spital AG, where he led comprehensive HR strategy, talent management, workforce engagement and HR governance across the hospital’s clinical and administrative workforce. His leadership strengthened people operations, recruitment frameworks and compensation structures in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Alongside his corporate leadership roles, Ueli has also served as Managing Director of Ueli Zehnder Consult for over nine years, advising medical practices, hospitals and clinics across Switzerland on governance, leadership development, HR strategy and healthcare management. He also held academic responsibilities as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), contributing to research, teaching and project leadership in healthcare management.
Earlier, Ueli spent over three years at Insel Gruppe as Head of HR Service Center, where he led HR operations for an employee base of approximately 11,500 staff, overseeing payroll, HR IT, onboarding, offboarding and large-scale HR digitalisation initiatives. He also built HR leadership frameworks at Kantonsspital Baden AG as Head of HR Services & Recruiting, and previously held CFO and academic research roles within healthcare institutions.
Ueli began his professional journey at Credit Suisse, where he spent over a decade in senior leadership and relationship management roles, developing deep expertise in financial services, leadership development, customer advisory and organisational strategy before transitioning fully into healthcare leadership.
