Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, July 2025 — Umesh Gupta has been elevated to the position of Senior Vice President – Operations (Cluste,, Head) at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where he now leads the company’s formulations cluster. This new role highlights his operational leadership and deep domain expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing, following his earlier position as Vice President – Operations.
With a career spanning over two decades, Umesh joined Glenmark in 2022 and has played a pivotal role in strengthening site operations, streamlining manufacturing systems, and delivering performance across strategic clusters. His contributions have reinforced Glenmark’s commitment to quality, compliance, and global supply readiness.
Prior to Glenmark, Umesh held senior leadership roles at Granules India Limited, Zydus Group, and Ipca Laboratories Limited, where he drove large-scale operations, production strategy, and plant transformation across regulated markets. His international exposure includes a four-year stint at SUN PHARMA in the United States, where he led manufacturing functions for global supply chains.
Umesh is an alumnus of Ahmedabad University (MBA – Global Executive Program in Pharmaceutical Management), Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Navi Mumbai (PGDBM – Operations Management), and SGSITS Indore (B.Pharm – Pharmaceutical Sciences). With a strong foundation in operational excellence, he is expected to spearhead Glenmark’s manufacturing transformation agenda with a focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability.
