New York City, New York, United States, September 2025 – Vanessa Pinard has joined Pink Chicken New York as the new Director of HR & People Development, bringing with her over 15 years of rich and diverse experience in human resources, people leadership, and retail operations. In her new role, Vanessa will lead the company’s people strategy, focusing on leadership development, employee experience, HR operations, and cultivating a vibrant organizational culture aligned with Pink Chicken’s creative and family-focused ethos.
Before joining Pink Chicken New York, Vanessa Pinard led her own HR consultancy, Vanessa Pinard Consulting LLC, for five years, supporting businesses across industries in strategic HR design, leadership development, employee benefits, and people operations. Her consulting practice reflected her ability to tailor scalable HR frameworks to the unique needs of startups and growth-stage businesses.
Prior to this, Vanessa held several key HR roles at Away, where she most recently served as Senior People Partner for Retail Strategy, following her earlier role as People Partner for Retail, CX, and E-commerce. During her four-year tenure, she played a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with business objectives and optimizing the employee experience across multiple verticals.
Before joining Away, she served at Happy Socks AB in multiple HR leadership positions. As Human Resources Business Partner, and earlier as HR Manager for North America, she oversaw both corporate and retail HR functions, ensuring alignment between global policies and local execution for teams across the U.S.
Earlier in her career, Vanessa built a strong foundation in retail leadership, serving as District Manager for NYC at Club Monaco, Retail Trainer for the East Coast at Juicy Couture, and Flagship Store Manager at BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP. These roles provided her with firsthand operational expertise and a deep understanding of frontline talent development, which now informs her HR leadership approach.
