Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, May 2025 — Varun Berry has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Britannia Industries Limited, in addition to continuing his responsibilities as Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director. This expanded role marks a strategic move by the company to consolidate leadership as it enters a new phase of growth and global ambitions in the food and FMCG sector.
Berry brings with him over 38 years of leadership experience in the consumer goods industry, with a distinguished career across renowned global companies. Prior to joining Britannia in 2013, he served as CEO of PepsiCo Foods India, and held several international leadership positions with PepsiCo International, including as CEO of the International Dairy & Juice JV in Dubai and Country Manager of the Philippines. He also led operations in Vietnam and earlier served as Marketing Manager at Unilever India (Brooke Bond India Ltd).
Under Berry’s leadership, Britannia has transformed significantly, with a sharpened focus on innovation, consumer engagement, operational efficiency, and entry into new product categories. His tenure has been instrumental in propelling the brand into new geographies while retaining its leadership in the biscuit segment and expanding into dairy, cakes, and snacking.
In his new role as CEO, Berry will lead the company’s strategic agenda, enhance value creation for stakeholders, and accelerate Britannia’s vision of becoming a Global Total Foods Company.
