Australia, December 2025 – Vidoshi Jana has taken on a new leadership role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). In her new mandate, she joins the senior leadership team of the national regulator for vocational education and training (VET), contributing to ASQA’s mission of ensuring quality, integrity, and public confidence in nationally recognised qualifications across Australia.
Immediately prior to joining ASQA, Vidoshi Jana served for nearly three and a half years at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), most recently as Chief Operating Officer, driving operational excellence, crisis communications, data management, and industrial relations. Earlier at NEMA, she held the position of First Assistant Coordinator-General, playing a central role in HR strategy, HR transformation, and national emergency coordination across major government functions.
Before her tenure at NEMA, she held several senior leadership positions within the Australian Public Service (APS) across six and a half years. Her contributions included serving as First Assistant Secretary, National Coordination and Operational Support, where she guided HR strategy and crisis communications; Assistant Secretary, National Coordination Mechanism supporting emergency response operations; and Assistant Secretary, People Strategy and Culture, where she shaped HR policies, organisational culture, and transformation initiatives. Her earlier APS roles included oversight of payroll services, freedom of information, privacy, and records management—reflecting her broad public-sector capability.
Her earlier experience includes significant financial leadership roles in the Australian Government and ComSuper, where she served as Chief Finance Officer, Director Finance, and Director roles across payroll, financial accounting, and financial administration. Across these portfolios, she strengthened financial governance, industrial relations frameworks, and administrative systems supporting government operations.
Vidoshi Jana began her government career with more than eight years at the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, holding progressive managerial roles focused on financial services, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and systems analysis. Her foundational professional experience includes early accounting responsibilities with the Department of Finance and Administration and the Australian National University, establishing strong technical grounding in finance, governance, and administrative policy.
