New Delhi, Delhi, India, October 2025 – The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, in its selection meeting held on October 4, 2025, has recommended Shri Vishwanath Suresh for the position of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) at MOIL Limited, a leading Schedule “A” Miniratna Category-I enterprise under the Ministry of Steel.
Vishwanath Suresh brings over three decades of rich leadership experience in the steel and mining industry, marked by a proven record of driving commercial excellence and strategic growth in India’s top public sector undertakings.
Currently, he serves as Director (Commercial) at NMDC Limited, where he has been instrumental for nearly three years in strengthening the organization’s marketing, logistics, and trade functions, ensuring business continuity and growth across domestic and international markets. His strategic foresight has significantly enhanced NMDC’s commercial efficiency and market presence.
Prior to NMDC, he spent an impressive 31 years with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of India’s largest steel producers, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Director. During his tenure, he spearheaded several strategic initiatives in coal imports, raw material sourcing, and regional operations management. His leadership as Regional Manager, Northern Region, and Executive Director (Coal Imports) reflected his strong command over supply chain optimization and market development strategies.
His long-standing association with SAIL—spanning diverse functions from marketing and sales to operations—has made him a seasoned professional with in-depth knowledge of India’s core manufacturing and resources sector.
An alumnus of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing, Vishwanath Suresh combines technical understanding with strategic marketing acumen, bringing a holistic leadership perspective to MOIL Limited.

MOIL Limited (formerly Manganese Ore (India) Limited) is a Schedule “A” Miniratna Category-I Company under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, incorporated in 1962. It is India’s largest producer of manganese ore, fulfilling approximately 50% of the country’s total requirement of dioxide ore. The company operates 10 mines—six in Maharashtra’s Nagpur and Bhandara districts and four in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district.
MOIL produces and markets multiple grades of manganese ore, including high-grade ores for Ferro manganese, medium-grade for Silico manganese, blast furnace-grade ores, and dioxide ore for dry battery and chemical industries. The company has diversified into value-added products, including Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide (EMD) and Ferro manganese, with annual capacities of 1,000 MT and 10,000 MT respectively.
In alignment with India’s renewable energy goals, MOIL has also ventured into non-conventional energy generation, operating a 4.8 MW Wind Energy Farm at Nagda Hills and a 15.2 MW Wind Farm at Ratedi Hills, Dewas (Madhya Pradesh).
