Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, August 2025 – Zamafuze Ngcobo has been appointed as Chief People Officer at BankservAfrica, Africa’s largest automated clearing house. In her new role, she will lead the organisation’s people strategy, overseeing talent acquisition, leadership development, organisational culture, performance management, and inclusion initiatives to support BankservAfrica’s mission of modernising the payments landscape and delivering value to the financial ecosystem.
Ngcobo most recently served at KFC Africa for nearly three years, holding the positions of Business Development Director and HR Director: People Development and Capability. In these roles she drove the business case for Africa’s growth strategy, leading a cross functional team in partnership with the global office.
She was responsible for the digital transformation of L&D, recruitment practices, elevated the candidate experience and built people strategy that would meet future business needs.
Ngcobo built her commercial acumen working at McKinsey and Company where she worked across Africa solving some of the toughest industry challenges. She holds a masters degree from the University of Sussex and is a Mandela Rhodes Scholar. Her early experience includes roles in media & advertising and the United Nations Information Center.
