Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2024 – Sanjeev Muramkar has been elevated to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Adani Electricity.

Sanjeev Muramkar has been with Adani Electricity for over five years. Starting in April 2019, he initially served as the Head of Talent Management, Learning, and Talent Acquisition, where he focused on coaching, mentoring, capability development, and other skills. In May 2024, he transitioned to his current role as the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Prior to joining Adani Electricity, Sanjeev was the Head of Learning and Development at Adani Group from January 2014 to April 2019. His responsibilities included coaching, mentoring, and capability development, contributing significantly to the group’s overall growth.
From November 2011 to January 2014, Sanjeev served as the Head of Organization Development at Vedanta | Sesa Goa Iron Ore in Panaji, Goa. During his tenure, he worked on capability development and other strategic HR initiatives.
Sanjeev’s earlier roles include working at Trent Ltd (A Tata Enterprise) from November 2006 to November 2011 as a Senior Manager – Human Resources. Here, he led leadership development, employee engagement, career management programs, performance management, and various talent management initiatives.
At Wockhardt, from 2004 to 2006, Sanjeev was an Assistant Manager – Human Resources. His role involved executing leadership development programs, designing learning and development initiatives, conducting employee engagement surveys, and managing performance and recruitment processes.
Education:
Sanjeev holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2001-2005). His doctoral research provided a conceptual foundation for reward preference and organizational benefit perception in the Indian context, enhancing understanding of reward management variables related to work attitudes, behaviors, and organizational commitment.
He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Shivaji University (1997-1999).

As Mumbai’s primary power distribution utility company, Adani Electricity operates a distribution network spanning over 400 sq. km, providing reliable power to over three million households and establishments from Bandra to Bhayander on the western side and Sion to Mankhurd on the eastern side of Mumbai.
