DB Schenker, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, has announced the appointment of Vishal Sharma as the new CEO for the Asia Pacific region, effective February 1, 2024. Sharma, who brings over three decades of experience in the logistics sector, has been part of the DB Schenker team since 2018, initially serving as the CEO of the Cluster Indian Subcontinent before taking on the role of CEO for DB Schenker’s Cluster Greater China in 2021.
Vishal Sharma’s extensive background includes various executive leadership positions across the globe, including in the U.S., Singapore, India, and Denmark, underscoring his profound global executive leadership experience.
Sharma holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a Master of Management Studies from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.
Jochen Thewes, Global CEO of DB Schenker, expressed confidence in Sharma’s capabilities, highlighting his forwarding expertise and customer dedication as key factors that position him well to lead the team in the Asia Pacific region. Thewes anticipates Sharma’s leadership will significantly contribute to DB Schenker’s continued success in the region.
Sharma succeeds Niklas Wilmking, who has been appointed as a board member for contract logistics and supply chain management within DB Schenker. This leadership transition is expected to bolster DB Schenker’s strategic focus and operational efficiency in the Asia Pacific region, further enhancing its service offerings and customer engagement across this dynamic market.
