IDinsight, a global advisory, data analytics, and research organization committed to using data and evidence to help leaders maximize their social impact, has announced Rebecca Gong Sharp as its new Chief Executive Officer. Rebecca, also known as Becca, brings a rich background in executive leadership and international development to her new role, which she will assume on February 26, 2024.
Before her appointment as CEO, Rebecca served in a significant capacity at the Peace Corps as the Regional Director for Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia, where she oversaw operations across 19 country posts. This role was part of her broader career trajectory, including extensive experience in strategy consulting, evidence-based research, and social entrepreneurship in resource-constrained settings.
Rebecca is not new to IDinsight; she has played a pivotal role in the organization’s development over the years. She first joined IDinsight in 2016 as the Director of Operations, later becoming the Chief Operating Officer. During her tenure, Rebecca was instrumental in leading IDinsight through periods of exponential growth and was key in installing new systems and processes that emphasized data-driven approaches.
Her professional journey is marked by a commitment to using data and evidence to improve lives, a principle that aligns with IDinsight’s mission. Rebecca’s work has spanned various geographical regions and sectors, bringing a global perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in international development.
Rebecca’s leadership comes at a time when IDinsight continues to expand its global footprint and influence in making data and evidence central to addressing social challenges. With offices in India, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, the Philippines, and Zambia and a team of over 300 colleagues, IDinsight is poised for an even greater impact in the global development sector under Rebecca’s guidance.
