London, United Kingdom, December 2024 – Anand Varma has joined MarketAxess as Chief Information Officer for EMEA and APAC, as well as Head of Post-Trade Technology. In this role, Anand will lead strategic technology initiatives across multiple regions while driving innovation in post-trade technology solutions.
Before joining MarketAxess, Anand spent over six years at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), where he most recently served as Chief Information Officer for London Stock Exchange Plc. His tenure included significant contributions to equities technology as Head of Equities Technology, overseeing critical systems and platforms for the global financial markets.
Earlier, Anand held leadership roles at Barclays Investment Bank, including as Head of European Equities Electronic Trading Technology and Vice President, Equities Technology, where he managed advanced electronic trading platforms and ensured robust execution strategies for the bank’s European markets.
Anand began his career as a Software Engineer at the National Stock Exchange of India, later joining Oracle Financial Services to work across Singapore and Tokyo on cutting-edge technology solutions for financial markets. His extensive career reflects over two decades of expertise in driving transformative technology across global financial institutions.
