Leeds, England, United Kingdom, January 2025 – Thomas Bennett has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Emerald Publishing, where he will lead the company’s financial strategy, risk management, and operational finance functions. His leadership will play a key role in supporting Emerald’s mission of driving impactful research while ensuring sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Thomas Bennett has been with Emerald Publishing for approximately three and a half years, previously serving as Financial Director since September 2021. In this role, he was responsible for financial oversight, strategic planning, and ensuring effective financial controls across the organization.

Prior to this, he held the position of Group Head of Finance at Emerald Group for nearly four years, where he led financial governance, supported business growth initiatives, and played a key role in financial reporting and compliance.
Before joining Emerald, Thomas spent nearly 10 years at PwC, progressing from Assurance Associate to Senior Manager in Transaction Services. He specialized in financial due diligence, particularly focusing on industrial products, engineering, and manufacturing sectors, gaining extensive expertise in financial auditing, compliance, and M&A advisory services.
Earlier in his career, Thomas worked as a Rail Alignment Design Specialist at White Young Green, where he developed foundational skills in project analysis and technical design.
