Marcus Williams Named Vice President, Human Resources, Sysco Americas at Sysco

Tampa, Florida, United States, January 2025 – Marcus Williams has been appointed as the new Vice President of Human Resources, Sysco Americas at Sysco, where he will oversee HR strategies and operations to support the company’s expansive Americas market. Marcus brings a wealth of experience in HR leadership and organizational transformation, positioning him to drive strategic initiatives across Sysco’s workforce and further enhance its people-focused culture.

Marcus has been with Sysco for over four years, holding multiple leadership roles. Before his current position, he served as Vice President of Human Resources, first for the South Market and later for the Central Market, where he was instrumental in developing HR strategies and enhancing operational efficiency. His tenure also includes a role as South Market Human Resources VP, overseeing HR functions across multiple regions and contributing to Sysco’s growth.

Prior to joining Sysco, Marcus spent more than 10 years at BP, where he held diverse roles including Global Human Resources Director and Refinery HR Manager. During this time, he led HR functions at major refineries, developed strategic resource plans, and fostered inclusive workplace cultures. His responsibilities extended to talent management, performance planning, and labor relations.

Marcus also served as Labor Relations Advisor and Compensation Consultant at ExxonMobil, where he provided expert guidance on compensation, labor relations, and HR strategies for large-scale operations. His experience in workforce planning and salary administration further enriched his HR expertise.
