Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 – Anand Laxshmivarahan R has been appointed as the Chief Digital and Information Officer at UltraTech Cement, bringing over two decades of experience in digital transformation, IT strategy, and advanced technologies. In this role, he will lead the company’s digital initiatives, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive operational excellence and innovation.
Anand joins UltraTech Cement after serving as the Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at Jubilant Bhartia Group, where he led digital business transformation, smart manufacturing, and AI-driven strategies. His expertise in Industry 4.0, supply chain optimization, and digital ESG made a significant impact across the group’s diverse business verticals.
Prior to that, he was the Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at Vedanta Resources, where he played a key role in driving AI/ML strategies, business process automation, and technology-driven decision-making. He was responsible for implementing digital transformation programs that enhanced operational efficiencies across the conglomerate’s industrial and energy sectors.
Earlier in his career, Anand spent eight years at Wipro Technologies as a Consulting Partner, focusing on digital transformation, IT strategy, and cloud services for the oil and gas sector. His experience includes senior leadership roles at Honeywell, GE, and Siemens, where he contributed to industrial automation, SCADA, and control systems engineering.
