Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, February 2025 – Yolanda Sherrer has stepped into the role of Chief People and Culture Officer at YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, bringing extensive experience in human resources leadership, talent development, and organizational culture transformation. In this role, she will oversee HR strategies, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives to enhance the Y’s mission of community development, health, and youth empowerment.
Before joining YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, Yolanda served as Human Resources Director at Hightowers Petroleum Co. for over five years, where she played a pivotal role in aligning HR policies with business strategies, fostering a high-performance culture, and enhancing employee engagement. Her leadership contributed to the company’s talent development programs and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Previously, she spent nearly 17 years at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, holding multiple leadership roles, including Human Resources Director and Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Organization & Talent Development. In this capacity, she worked closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to implement HR best practices, optimize workforce planning, and drive organizational excellence.
Yolanda also served as Director of Organization Culture & Talent Development at Cincinnati Museum Center for seven years, where she led recruiting strategies, talent development programs, and employee engagement initiatives to enhance organizational culture. Her impressive career in HR leadership, workforce transformation, and strategic planning makes her an invaluable addition to the YMCA’s leadership team.
