Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – Manish Kapoor has taken on the role of Managing Director of Marks & Spencer India, bringing extensive leadership experience in the retail and fashion industry. With a strong background in business growth, market expansion, and strategic leadership, he will focus on strengthening M&S India’s market presence, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. His appointment aligns with the company’s international business reset strategy, emphasizing sustainable expansion through capital-light partnerships and digital transformation.
Prior to joining Marks & Spencer India, Kapoor served as CEO and Managing Director of Pepe Jeans India Limited. Over nearly 11 years at Pepe Jeans, he played a pivotal role in expanding the brand’s retail footprint, driving digital innovation, and strengthening customer-centric strategies. His career also includes key leadership positions at Pantaloons Retail, Madura Garments, Benetton Group, and Brand Marketing India, where he contributed to scaling retail businesses across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
Before joining Marks & Spencer India, Manish Kapoor spent nearly 11 years at Pepe Jeans London, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Managing Director & CEO. He played a crucial role in expanding the brand’s footprint in India, strengthening its omnichannel strategy, and enhancing customer experiences.
Earlier in his career, he served as COO of French Connection at Brand Marketing India, where he was responsible for business strategy and operations. At Benetton Group, he held multiple leadership roles, including Business Head for Southeast Asia & Australia and Head of Operations for North & East India. His retail expertise also includes leadership roles at Madura Garments (Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd.) and Pantaloons Retail India Ltd.
Manish Kapoor holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Apparel Marketing and Merchandising Management (PGDAMMM) from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and a B.Tech in Textile Technology from the Technological Institute of Textiles and Science. His strong academic background in fashion, textiles, and retail management has played a key role in his leadership journey.
