New Delhi, India, March 2025 – Bain & Company has appointed Shyam Unnikrishnan as Managing Partner for Bain & Company India, where he will lead the firm’s growth, strategy, people, and operations. With nearly two decades of global consulting experience, he brings extensive expertise in retail, consumer products, strategy, and digital transformation. Unnikrishnan, who previously led Bain’s Innovation & Design practice in APAC, succeeds Parijat Ghosh, who will now head the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in APAC.
Shyam has been with Bain & Company for over 16 years, working across its New Delhi, Sydney, and Atlanta offices. Throughout his career, he has advised global and local clients across India, the Americas, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia on full potential strategy, new market entry, sales acceleration, customer experience, and digital transformation. His leadership has helped startups, digital unicorns, scale-ups, and multinational companies achieve profitable growth.
In addition to his consulting expertise, Shyam is passionate about mentorship and leadership development. He was the first recipient of Bain India’s prestigious Bright-Dix award in 2018 for his exceptional contributions to professional development.
Before joining Bain, Shyam worked as a Design Engineer at Analog Devices and a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant. He holds a PGP in Management from IIM Bangalore, where he was President of the Students’ Affairs Council, and a BE (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics from BITS Pilani.
