Chicago, Illinois, United States, March 2025 – Josh Mann has taken on a new role as Chief People Officer at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago, where he will lead all people-centric strategies including talent development, inclusion, workforce planning, and employee engagement across the museum.
Josh has been a driving force at MCA Chicago for over five years, most recently serving as Senior Director of People and Culture. In this role, he was instrumental in creating the institution’s first People Strategy, building a comprehensive performance management system, and spearheading a dedicated HR Equity Plan that reinforced the MCA’s commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).
Before that, Josh served as Director of Human Resources at MCA, where he led all facets of human capital management and introduced structural innovations including a formal compensation model and centralized recruitment operations, significantly improving diversity and time-to-hire metrics.
Earlier, he held leadership roles at Make-A-Wish® Illinois, including Senior Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Manager. There, he integrated the Talent and Volunteer functions, launched a Diversity and Inclusion Team, and restructured staffing approaches during the COVID-19 pandemic, always centering care and engagement.
Josh also gained valuable experience in operations and people leadership during his tenure at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, About Face Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Brownville Village Theatre, further anchoring his foundation in arts and nonprofit management.
