New York, United States, April 2025 – Michelle Crenshaw has taken on a new role as Chief People Officer at the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), marking a pivotal addition to the union’s leadership team. In this capacity, Crenshaw will play a critical role in shaping and executing the NBPA’s people strategy, championing culture, talent development, DEI, and organizational effectiveness as the union continues to advance the rights and wellbeing of NBA players.
Crenshaw brings with her more than two decades of robust HR leadership across professional services, investment management, and advertising. Her dynamic experience in leading large-scale talent transformation initiatives will be instrumental in strengthening the NBPA’s internal capabilities to support its members and mission.
Before joining NBPA, Michelle Crenshaw served for over seven years at Mediabrands, most recently as Global Chief Talent Officer, where she led global HR and talent initiatives across the network. Her tenure included prior leadership roles as Senior Vice President and Vice President of Human Resources, where she focused on strategic talent planning, employee experience, and DEI across the organization.
Earlier, Crenshaw held various roles at PwC, including Manager – People & Change Consulting and HR Manager, where she supported clients in HR transformation, talent strategy, and organizational design. Prior to that, she was Assistant Vice President and HR Generalist at both Voya Investment Management and T. Rowe Price, where she partnered closely with investment and product teams to align business and talent priorities.
Crenshaw began her HR career at Sunoco LP as a recruiter and later contributed as an HR Project Specialist at AstraZeneca, where she managed cross-functional HR initiatives supporting commercial teams.
