Prague, Czech Republic / European Union, April 2025 – Karel Foltyn has joined Rohlik Group as the Group Chief People Officer, marking a pivotal step in the online grocery delivery company’s continued expansion across Europe. In his new role, Karel will lead HR strategy, organizational development, and cultural transformation across Rohlik’s multi-country operations, reinforcing its position as a tech-driven, people-first enterprise.
Prior to this appointment, Karel spent over nine years at Amazon, most recently serving as Human Resources Director for Amazon Logistics in Europe, where he led a team of nearly 500 HR professionals. He also held global roles such as Head of Global PXT Engagement, where he focused on redefining HR service delivery and scaling operations to support employees in over 50 countries. His leadership across Amazon’s fulfillment and logistics HR strategies played a key role in improving associate experience and driving organizational innovation.

Before Amazon, Karel led HR for Central & Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Ireland at Tesco PLC, managing HR for 75,000 employees and helping to develop future business leaders through strategic talent planning and capability building. His tenure also included creating more efficient HR hubs and delivering significant operational savings across regions.
Karel began his international HR leadership journey at Unilever, where he served as Marketing & CD Capability HR Director for Europe, as well as National HR Director for Czech and Slovak Republics, overseeing HR for 1,400 employees across manufacturing and business functions. His work emphasized organizational design, transformation, and performance alignment.
