Chester, England, United Kingdom, April 2025 — Prashant Janaswamy has been appointed as Chief Information Officer at EET Fuels, the downstream energy platform of Essar Future Energy Transition. With over 25 years of global experience across energy, manufacturing, and digital transformation, Prashant steps into a pivotal role to lead EET Fuels’ technology modernization and drive data-centric decision-making.
Prior to joining EET Fuels, Prashant held multiple leadership positions at Petrofac, including Chief Technology Officer and Global Head of Data Science, AI and Automation. During his tenure, he executed enterprise-scale digital strategies, successfully implementing cloud-based architectures, AI-driven insights, and advanced automation. His leadership resulted in operational efficiency gains, cost reduction, and improved service delivery across 25 global sites.
Before Petrofac, Prashant played a critical role in GE Power’s digital transformation as IT Director – Digital Enterprise, Data & Analytics, where he developed unified analytics platforms and data governance strategies that yielded measurable improvements in inventory management, logistics, and delivery timelines. His earlier stints at GE Digital, GE Energy, and GE Oil & Gas saw him lead large-scale ERP integration and field services digital initiatives across the Middle East, Africa, and India.
At EET Fuels, Prashant will be at the forefront of the company’s journey to become the UK’s first low carbon process refinery. His rich expertise in cloud infrastructure, enterprise applications, artificial intelligence, and business strategy alignment is expected to play a transformative role in enabling EET Fuels to meet its decarbonization goals and long-term growth agenda.

EET Fuels is the downstream energy arm of Essar Energy Transition, formed in 2023 to develop low-carbon energy projects totaling an investment of US$3.6 billion. Of this, US$1.2 billion is dedicated to decarbonizing the refining operations of EET Fuels, positioning it as the UK’s first low-carbon process refinery. Aligned with the UK government’s net zero ambitions, EET Fuels aims to achieve a 95% reduction in emissions by 2030, setting a global benchmark in industrial decarbonization and energy transition.
