Eugene, Oregon, United States, May 2025 – The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) has appointed Diedre Williams as its new Chief People Officer, marking a strategic move to strengthen the utility’s workforce strategies, operational alignment, and culture of employee engagement and excellence. In her new role, Diedre will lead initiatives that advance organizational strategy, workforce planning, leadership development, and operational continuity while fostering inclusiveness, accountability, and innovation across EWEB.
Diedre brings more than two decades of executive HR and operations leadership experience. Prior to joining EWEB, she served as a Consultant, offering specialized advisory services in human resources, operations, and managed IT services to companies undergoing transformation in telecommunications and enterprise services. She was previously Senior Vice President of Operations at Alaska Communications, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of a $65M broadband and managed services provider, including Field Services, HR, Network Operations, and more.
Over her 19-year tenure at Alaska Communications, she also held critical roles such as Vice President of Human Resources and Director of Human Resource Operations, where she led large-scale organizational change efforts including union negotiations, performance management overhauls, and digital transformation of HR systems.
Earlier in her career, she served as Sr. Manager of Risk Management and held leadership roles in Labor Relations, bringing deep expertise in governance, policy development, and employee relations.
