Maja Stijacic Appointed as Vice President & MD, Human Resources, Capital Markets at RBC

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, May 2025 – Maja Stijacic has been appointed as Vice President & Managing Director, Human Resources, Capital Markets at RBC (Royal Bank of Canada). In her new role, Maja will lead HR strategy for RBC Capital Markets, bringing a blend of deep sectoral expertise and cross-functional leadership from over a decade of experience in HR across financial services and telecommunications.

Maja has been with RBC for over seven years, during which she has held a series of progressively senior HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Managing Director, Head of HR for Global Markets, where she played a pivotal role in aligning human capital strategy with global business priorities. Prior to that, she held leadership positions as Director/Senior HR Business Partner for Technology & Operations and Senior Manager, HR Business Partner for Global Asset Management, contributing to talent transformation and workforce optimization across RBC’s technology and investment divisions.

Before joining RBC, Maja spent nearly four years at Rogers Communications, holding multiple HR roles across brand, sales, partner retail, and channel marketing. Her roles included HR Manager and HR Business Partner, where she was instrumental in driving employee engagement, talent development, and workforce transitions across the Greater Toronto Area.

Earlier in her career, Maja spent over three years with Shoppers Drug Mart in HR, where she honed her foundational experience in retail human resources. She began her career as a Research Associate at Foundation Cure, gaining valuable cross-cultural exposure while working across Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
