London, England, United Kingdom, June 2025 – Helen Freemantle has stepped into a new leadership role as Head of People Solutions & Advice, Americas, Europe & UK at HSBC, marking another significant chapter in her nearly decade-long journey with the global financial services giant. In her new role, she will oversee strategic people advisory functions across multiple geographies, supporting the organization’s transformation and workforce strategy.
Helen Freemantle has been associated with HSBC for over eight years, most recently holding the position of Head of Employee Relations Transformation, where she was instrumental in driving strategic changes within the employee relations space. Prior to this, she served as Head of Employee Relations Centres of Expertise (MD), where she led global frameworks across policy, industrial relations, business change, and investigations.
Before that, she was Head of ER Regions, Business Change & Policy (MD) and also led the UK’s employee relations agenda as Head of ER UK. In addition to her leadership in employee relations, Helen also contributed as Group Head of Employee Relations and previously served as Legal Counsel – Global Legal Employment within the organization.
Before joining HSBC, Helen spent over eight years at DAC Beachcroft LLP, serving as a Solicitor – Employment Law, where she built her expertise in employment legislation and advisory services.
She also held interim and consulting roles at notable institutions such as University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where she was Interim Head of Employee Relations, and at Barclays Bank Plc as an ER Consultant, contributing significantly to workforce management practices.
