Kochi, Kerala, India, June 2025 – Bayfield Food Ingredients has announced the appointment of Mr. Simon George as Chairman of the Board, marking a significant leadership milestone for the company as it continues its journey of innovation and global collaboration in food science.
With a legacy of transformative leadership in the global food industry, Simon brings strategic insight, growth orientation, and visionary thinking to help shape Bayfield’s next phase of expansion. His presence marks a significant step in scaling Bayfield’s impact and deepening it’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation.
Simon George brings an impressive track record with over three decades of senior leadership experience in the food and ingredients industry. Most recently, he has served as VP & Managing Director, Cargill Food, South Asia, where he has played a pivotal role in driving growth and transformation across Cargill’s businesses in the region. Additionally, as President, Cargill India, he has overseen diverse portfolios, strengthening the company’s presence and operational excellence.
Previously, Simon was Managing Director, CSST, India at Cargill, leading critical business segments with a focus on operational efficiency and market expansion. Before his long tenure at Cargill, Simon held the role of General Manager – South West Asia & Flavours (APAC) at Kerry, where he led the APAC flavour business and managed the South West Asia region, driving innovation and customer-focused strategies.
Earlier in his career, Simon headed the Asia flavour business for Cargill as General Manager – Asia, and was Managing Director for Cargill Flavor System India, overseeing the regional business footprint. He also spent over a decade with International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), advancing through leadership roles including Regional General Manager APAC, based in Singapore, managing diverse markets such as ANZ, Indonesia, and ISC.
Simon’s leadership journey began at Detergents India Limited (a subsidiary of Shaw Wallace), where he rose from trainee to Chief Executive Officer over an eight-year period, laying the foundation for his distinguished career in the FMCG and food ingredients sectors.
An alumnus of Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Simon George’s global perspective and expertise will further strengthen Bayfield Food Ingredients’ vision to deliver innovative solutions for culinary, bakery, desserts, and beverage segments worldwide.
