Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 — Ashish S. has taken on the role of Head – Group Talent Management at Aditya Birla Group, marking a pivotal elevation in his career within the conglomerate. In this newly assumed position, Ashish will be responsible for steering the group-wide talent strategy, leadership development, and succession planning efforts across one of India’s most influential business groups.
Ashish returns to the Group Headquarters after an enriching learning sabbatical, following his recent tenure at UltraTech Cement as HR Business Partner for Cement Marketing, RMC & Building Products Division, where he led the human capital strategy for a diverse and dynamic workforce.
Prior to that, he made a significant impact at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), where he held dual responsibilities as Head of Human Resources for Designer Led Brands and COE Lead for Rewards. His leadership in performance management and compensation structures helped foster a performance-driven culture and enabled the growth of fashion-led business lines.
Earlier in his journey, Ashish played an instrumental role at Aditya Birla Retail Limited, where he served as HR Head – Supermarket and Region HR Head – Karnataka, overseeing large retail operations and achieving notable reductions in attrition. His people-first philosophy and execution strength were key to aligning business needs with HR interventions on the ground.
Ashish’s formative years in the Group included strategic roles in Rewards & Benefits, where he helped shape compensation governance, global mobility, long-term incentive frameworks, and market benchmarking practices. His early experience in learning and development at Gyanodaya, the Group’s corporate university, reflects his strong foundation in people development.
