Auckland, New Zealand, July 2025 – Bernadette Kelly has been appointed as the Chief People and Corporate Services Officer at TVNZ, New Zealand’s leading voice in broadcasting. In her new role, she will lead TVNZ’s people, safety, reputation, and corporate services portfolios, playing a key role in shaping organizational culture, talent strategy, and corporate stewardship for one of Aotearoa’s most impactful media companies.
Prior to joining TVNZ, Bernadette Kelly served as Chief People, Safety and Reputation Officer at Pāmu Farms of New Zealand for approximately five years. In this executive role, she oversaw a wide spectrum of teams across HR Operations, OD, L&D, Remuneration & Benefits, Payroll, Health & Safety, Internal and External Communications, Government Relations, Crisis Management, and Branding. Her contributions were pivotal in reshaping the leadership development program, implementing new people systems like Workday, and embedding a critical risk management system in health and safety.
Before her time at Pāmu, she was General Manager People and Capability at MercyAscot Private Hospitals & Mercy Radiology for over four years, where she led strategic HR initiatives, performance management systems, and culture-building programs aligned with executive goals. She was known for her influence in developing high-performance leadership and organizational culture.
Earlier in her career, Bernadette held senior HR leadership roles at Air New Zealand, including as Senior HR Manager for Flight Operations & Safety and later as Senior HR Manager for the Australia Region. Her work spanned union negotiations, reward strategy, global project leadership, and change management. Prior to that, she was Chief People Officer at Lotto New Zealand and Arrow International, and held multiple senior roles at Westpac and New Zealand’s District Health Boards, where she led ER, safety, and HR transformation efforts.
In parallel to her executive career, she also served as Director and Chair of the People and Safety Board sub-committee at Muka Tangata Workforce Development Council, where she contributed to the vocational education reform in Aotearoa for four years.
