Huntsville, Alabama, United States, August 2025 – Kimberly Sherrod has been appointed as Vice President of Human Resources at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, where she will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all HR, Medical, Safety & Security, and staff scheduling functions across the organization’s multi-site operations. In her new role, Sherrod will develop and implement HR strategies that drive talent acquisition, employee engagement, retention, and compliance, while partnering with executive leadership to align people strategy with organizational goals.
Sherrod has been with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for over 16 years, progressing through multiple HR leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Human Resources, where she led HR operations and collaborated with senior leadership to advance HR strategies in recruiting, total rewards, employee relations, and professional development. Prior to this, she was Director of Human Resources, where she focused on workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
Earlier in her career at the Space & Rocket Center, Sherrod was an HR Business Partner, providing strategic support in employee relations, talent management, and learning and development. She also served as Assistant Director of Center Operations, overseeing the planning and execution of more than 300 staffing schedules, optimizing workforce productivity, and managing operational constraints. She began her career at the Center as a Scheduling Specialist and Space Camp Counselor, gaining valuable frontline experience in workforce planning and employee engagement.
Sherrod holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management and Services from the University of North Alabama, which has further strengthened her leadership and strategic HR capabilities.
