Delhi, India, September 2025 – STMicroelectronics has announced the appointment of Anand Kumar as the new Managing Director for India, succeeding Vivek Sharma, who superannuated after a distinguished 34-year career with the company.
Anand Kumar brings with him over 26 years of experience at STMicroelectronics, where he has led major business transformations in the technology and semiconductor sector. Known for his innovation, leadership, and technical prowess, Anand has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s product development roadmap and advancing strategic initiatives across business units.
He holds over 20 patents in semiconductor IP design and is recognized for building and scaling high-performing teams that deliver engineering excellence and operational impact. His academic background includes a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi, adding further depth to his technical leadership.
In his new role as Managing Director, Anand will be based at ST’s Greater Noida headquarters and will oversee the company’s operations in India. His responsibilities include driving growth strategy, innovation alignment, and ensuring that local goals are in synergy with ST’s global objectives.
This leadership transition marks the retirement of Vivek Sharma, whose 34-year tenure saw STMicroelectronics India grow into a key player in the global semiconductor ecosystem. His legacy includes contributions to strategic expansion, talent development, and operational excellence that positioned ST India at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
