Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, September 2025 – DISCOVERY Children’s Museum has announced the appointment of Alison Sherman as the new Vice President Human Resources, effective September 2025. With over two decades of diverse experience in HR leadership across healthcare, hospitality, real estate, and nonprofit sectors, Alison brings a strategic and people-first mindset to lead the museum’s HR function during an exciting phase of growth and community engagement.
Before joining DISCOVERY Children’s Museum, Alison Sherman served as Human Resources Director at UNLV Health, where she was a member of the senior leadership team. She led a six-member HR team, implemented strategic initiatives in workforce planning, compensation, talent acquisition, and leadership development, and created robust employee relations programs. Her tenure was marked by impactful contributions in organizational design, succession planning, and performance management.
Previously, Alison held the position of Human Resources Manager at Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital – Select Medical, where she supported the opening of a 60-bed hospital, developed the Diversity & Inclusion committee, and drove award-winning engagement and staffing initiatives. She played a key leadership role across critical hospital committees including governance, quality, and safety.
Her earlier roles include serving as HR Manager at The Hertz Corporation, Hilton Grand Vacations, and Georgetown Hospital, where she focused on talent strategy, policy development, performance management, and HR compliance. She also gained valuable experience as HR Generalist/Recruiter at Starwood Vacation Ownership, where she supported talent acquisition and HR operations for multi-location hospitality properties.
Alison is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Her strengths span across workforce analytics, compensation strategy, training and development, employee engagement, and HR policy formulation.
