Lisbon, Portugal, September 2025 — Dr. Carsten Reimund has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer at Allianz Portugal, a key market entity of the global Allianz Group.
Reimund brings with him more than two decades of extensive experience at Allianz, where he has held diverse senior leadership positions across strategy, business transformation, corporate development, and international market management. Most recently, he served as Head of Business Division Iberia and Latin America, with responsibility for strategy, performance steering, M&A, and top HR management across Allianz entities in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia. He also acted as shareholder representative and main interface between the holding company and operating entities.
Previously, he served as Head of Business Division Ibero-LatAm, Allianz Partners, Allianz X, overseeing strategic planning, corporate development, and HR across multiple regions and business units. His role as Head of the Chief Business Transformation Office saw him work directly with the Allianz SE Board to drive global business transformation, data analytics, and digital initiatives, alongside oversight of Allianz Direct, Allianz Partners, and Allianz X.
Earlier in his career, Reimund spent over 16 years as Director & Senior Project Leader in Group Mergers & Acquisitions, managing strategic M&A transactions globally across P&C, Life & Health, Asset Management, and Banking. He also contributed as a Research Associate Professor at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, focusing on corporate finance, valuation, and banking, and gained international exposure as a Project Manager with the World Economic Forum in New York and a Corporate Banking Analyst with DZ BANK AG in Hong Kong.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, he has served on the boards and supervisory boards of Allianz entities in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and BBVA Allianz Seguros, and as a board advisor at InsurTech Hub Munich. His broad leadership across Europe, Latin America, and global markets reflects a deep expertise in finance, strategy, and governance.
