Chicago, Illinois, United States, September 2025 — Das Dasgupta, PhD has joined McDonald’s as the Global Chief Data Analytics & AI Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for driving the strategic vision, development, and execution of data and analytics initiatives across the enterprise in collaboration with GBS, Technology, Markets, and Functions.
Before joining McDonald’s, Das served as Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Starbucks, where he led enterprise-wide data-driven strategies, driving innovation through AI-powered platforms, KPI dashboards, and consumer insights. His leadership resulted in operational excellence, improved supply chain efficiency, and enhanced customer engagement.
Previously, he was Chief Data & AI Officer at Publicis Groupe (Saatchi & Saatchi), where he established the “Data-At-The-Center” competency to integrate consumer insights with advanced analytics, supporting marketing and media effectiveness across multiple markets.
Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Viacom, where as Global SVP, Head of Data Science and Digital Transformation, he spearheaded initiatives in machine learning, AI, and robotic process automation, contributing to revenue growth and significant process optimization. He also held key roles at Amazon, McKinsey & Company, and EY, building expertise in digital transformation, advanced analytics, and strategic operations.
Das has also contributed to academia and thought leadership as an Adjunct Professor at USC Marshall School of Business, Editorial Board Member at CDO Magazine, and Advisory Board Member at Harvard Business Review and Sounds of Saving.
