Bangalore, Karnataka, India, September 2025 — Rajesh Krishnan has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Samsung Semiconductor India, marking a major milestone in the organization’s growth journey. In this role, he will focus on strengthening India’s contribution to Samsung’s global innovation roadmap, driving semiconductor research and development, and reinforcing SSIR’s position as a hub for technological leadership and talent development. With more than two decades of association with Samsung, Rajesh’s leadership is expected to further SSIR’s mission of advancing cutting-edge innovations and establishing India as a key pillar of global R&D.
Before this appointment, Rajesh served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Samsung Memory R&D Division in India, where his expertise in memory technologies and semiconductor research played a pivotal role in driving global advancements. He has been instrumental in building the Bangalore R&D center from the ground up, growing it to over 600 engineers and enabling key contributions across flash memory applications, DRAM, firmware, and controller IP design.
Prior to joining Samsung in 2004, Rajesh worked with Hughes Network Systems in the United States, where he contributed to satellite projects and system design, and at Motorola India, where he gained early experience in software development and compilers for microcontrollers. He also served as Executive Council Member and Treasurer at the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), playing a role in fostering the growth of India’s semiconductor and ESDM ecosystem.
Armed with an MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Maryland and an M.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Rajesh brings both technical depth and strategic vision to his new role. His appointment reflects Samsung Semiconductor’s commitment to advancing innovation in India and building a world-class R&D ecosystem.
