Delhi, India, September 2025 – Sanjay Kumar Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Biodeal Pharmaceuticals Limited, bringing with him more than 32 years of leadership experience in the global healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. In his new role, Sharma will lead Biodeal Pharmaceuticals into its next phase of innovation and growth, leveraging his deep expertise in building international markets, expanding domestic operations, and pioneering new therapies. His appointment signals Biodeal’s commitment to strengthening its global footprint and delivering excellence in patient outcomes.
Most recently, Sharma served as President of International Sales and Marketing at Synokem Pharmaceuticals Ltd, where he spearheaded branded formulations, international expansion, and business development across multiple markets, including Europe and Asia. He also led the international portfolio of Synokem Group and Nitin Life Sciences, enhancing the organization’s presence in regulated and emerging markets.
Prior to Synokem, he held the role of President for Russia, CIS, and Baltic Countries at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, where he oversaw business development, international sales, and regulatory strategies. His work in these regions contributed to significant growth in both branded formulations and OTC portfolios, further consolidating Cadila’s presence in key markets.
Earlier in his career, Sharma spent more than six years at Ananta Medicare Limited, where he rose to become Global Business Head for African, CIS, SEA, and Indian Operations. In this role, he successfully expanded the company’s international reach and built a robust foundation for diversified global operations.
Before Ananta, Sharma led international businesses for over four years as Country Head of Ukraine at J. B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He was instrumental in strengthening operations across Ukraine and neighboring regions. Additionally, during his 11-year tenure at Ipca Laboratories Limited, Sharma advanced from regional and zonal leadership roles in India to become Business Manager of International Marketing in Russia and CIS countries, building renowned brands like HCQS, Zerodol, Folitrax, and Saaz.
Sharma began his career with Unichem Laboratories Limited as a District Manager in the Unisearch Division, where he managed pharmaceutical business operations across Northern India.
Sharma has been widely recognized for his leadership in healthcare. He was named among India’s Top 10 Most Influential Healthcare Leaders 2025 by TradeFlock and honored at the Economic Times Healthcare Conclave 2025 for his outstanding contributions to pharmaceuticals and healthcare. His legacy includes pioneering the introduction of Sartans, Statins, and SSRIs in India, and advancing therapies in cardiology, neurology, rheumatology, psychiatry, dermatology, and women’s health.
