Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Varinder Singh has joined AbbVie as Business Unit Director – Oncology, bringing with him over two decades of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. In his new role, Varinder will lead AbbVie’s oncology business in India, driving strategic growth, market expansion, and patient-centric innovation in cancer care. Varinder most recently served at Cipla, where over a span of more than seven years he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s oncology presence in India. As Business Head – Oncology, he led high-performing sales and marketing teams, strengthened the therapy portfolio, drove commercial excellence, and oversaw the launch of key oncology brands across priority markets.

Before Cipla, Varinder led oncology operations across West and East India at Roche, managing a portfolio exceeding ₹100 crore through a 30-member team of Regional Managers and Scientific Associates. His leadership helped broaden access to targeted cancer therapies and strengthen scientific engagement with oncologists and cancer care institutions.

Earlier, as Zonal Sales Manager at Eisai, he spearheaded the launch of the company’s oncology division in Western India, driving sales team formation, key account development, and successful market penetration for the brand Halaven. His work laid the foundation for long-term brand growth and physician adoption in the region.

Varinder’s broader career spans Sanofi Genzyme, AstraZeneca, Ranbaxy, and Cipla in earlier roles, where he gained in-depth experience across product launches, account management, brand strategy, and therapy shaping. His diverse cross-functional exposure and deep understanding of India’s oncology and specialty care landscape uniquely position him to support AbbVie’s mission of advancing treatment outcomes and improving patient quality of life.
