Nairobi County, Kenya, November 2025 – James K. has been appointed as the Head of People & Culture at Transnep Insurance Brokers Ltd. In his new role, he will lead people strategy, culture transformation, employee experience, and HR operations for one of Kenya’s most trusted and award-winning insurance brokers. His mandate includes driving organizational capability, enabling business transformation, and strengthening the company’s people-first culture.
In his most recent role before joining Transnep, James served at Highlands Drinks Limited as HRBP, with responsibilities spanning HR reporting, strategy, learning & development, and talent management. During this period, he strengthened people operations, enhanced capability-building initiatives, and supported the organizational transition through structured HR interventions.
Prior to that, he spent more than six years at Zamara Kenya, where he progressed across roles including Advisor – Talent Acquisition, Development & Special Projects and later Senior Advisor – Talent Acquisition Development & Special Projects. His work focused on multi-country talent acquisition, reporting and analytics, employee development, performance management, DEI, wellbeing, and policy advisory. He played a pivotal role in shaping a positive and employee-centric culture aligned with Zamara’s values. During his time in Zamara, He was part of the pioneer team that Organised and ran the Zamara Regional HR Summit for 4yrs.
Earlier, James served as Human Resources Assistant, managing people service delivery, talent acquisition support, HR reporting, employee experience, data processing, and workforce operations. His responsibilities contributed to building foundational HR efficiencies and strengthening organizational processes.
In the early years of his career, he gained experience across multiple internships, including roles at the Judicial Service Commission Kenya, Nakuru Water Sewage & Sanitation Service Ltd, and Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital, where he performed HR clerical duties and supported HR & Administration functions. These roles helped him build strong operational grounding and a deep understanding of HR service delivery.
