Gurugram, Haryana, India, December 2025 — Ashutosh Panwar has been elevated to AVP Head Transport Planning IP and Optics at Bharti Airtel. Based in Gurugram, he now leads a critical mandate at the intersection of IP, optics and national long-distance transport planning, reinforcing Airtel’s network evolution in a fast-accelerating digital and 5G landscape.
With around two decades at Bharti Airtel, Ashutosh Panwar has built deep expertise across packet, optics, intercity and intracity transport domains. His progression reflects sustained leadership in large-scale network design, capacity planning and high-availability backbone execution.
Most recently before this elevation, he served as Head Optics for NLD ASON DWDM Network for over five years in Gurugram. In this role, he led solution design for OTT players, proactive capacity planning, OPGW route planning, coordination with O&M/NOC/OEMs, and backhaul design and planning aligned to 5G deployment.
Prior to that, Ashutosh was Head Packet for Aggregate NLD Network for close to six years. He played a key role in the design, planning and deployment of packet/DWDM networks across NLD and intracity layers and led solution design engagements involving major ecosystem partners for bandwidth and fiber requirements.
Earlier, he served as Project Lead Aggregate Intercity & Intracity Network for nearly three years, driving pan-India aggregate network design for 3G, resilience architecture for high uptime, and Fiber PoP planning for large-scale site rollouts.
He began his Airtel journey with roles including Project Lead for B2B & B2C customer delivery and Graduate Engineer Trainee, steadily developing hands-on expertise in delivery, backbone planning and enterprise connectivity—capabilities that have shaped his long-term leadership across Airtel’s transport evolution.
