Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, December 2025 — Anupama Madhu has started a new position as General Manager – Technology Lead – Wealth & Private at Commonwealth Bank. In this expanded role, she will focus on advancing wealth and private banking technology priorities, with emphasis on areas such as retail banking, generative AI, agentic workflows, digital transformation, and emerging WealthTech opportunities.
In her latest elevation at Commonwealth Bank, Anupama Madhu has progressed into the role of General Manager – Technology Lead – Wealth & Private, building on her earlier responsibilities as Executive Manager – Technology Lead – Wealth & Private. Over nearly four years with the organization, she has contributed across critical technology leadership mandates, including her work as Executive Manager – Bankwest Technology, strengthening her depth across modern retail and wealth-oriented digital capability building.
Prior to joining Commonwealth Bank, she served as Vice President of Engineering at Wells Fargo for close to two years in Bengaluru, where she led technology efforts aligned to consumer lending, further sharpening her experience in large-scale financial services modernization and platform delivery.
A significant foundation of her career was shaped at Fidelity Investments, where she spent over sixteen years across progressively complex leadership roles. Her journey included serving as Director – Startup Accelerator, where she helped establish and drive an open innovation charter and startup ecosystem partnerships, and as Director – Brokerage Platforms & Technology, where she led global teams and large programs focused on building and scaling next-generation trading and securities lending capabilities.
Earlier in her tenure at Fidelity Investments, she also held roles spanning architecture, business consulting, project leadership, and core engineering, reflecting a strong blend of strategic transformation, program execution, and hands-on technology leadership. This layered experience positions her well to lead enterprise-grade wealth technology agendas with a balance of innovation, governance, and customer-centered outcomes.
