Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — Udita Agarwal has started a new position as Senior Vice President – People Business Consultant at HSBC. In this expanded role, she will partner strategically with business leaders and HR COEs to drive enterprise-wide growth, culture, and people priorities. Her mandate also includes streamlining customer journeys to scale businesses around the 3Ps—Products, Platform & People—and leading performance and pay reviews across critical business lines, enabling pay for potential and performance.
Udita Agarwal has steadily built a strong and contemporary HR leadership portfolio within HSBC, combining talent, learning, transformation, and business-aligned people strategy across multiple high-impact roles. With over seven years at the organization, her progression into the SVP People Business Consultant role reflects a trusted track record of enabling enterprise talent and culture agendas in a fast-evolving banking context.
In her most recent assignment, she served for close to two years as Senior Vice President & Head Talent Development at HSBC in Mumbai, where she led strategic initiatives spanning leadership development and digital transformation. Her tenure also appears to be marked by significant external and internal recognition, including prominent industry awards in 2024 and strong visibility for learning and talent outcomes delivered by the team.
Before this, Udita spent over three years as Vice President – Learning and Talent Development for key India businesses, supporting learning across Commercial Banking and Global Banking & Markets. She played a central role in succession and career proposition work, led campus development programs for interns and postgraduates, and drove culture and innovation priorities aimed at strengthening a continuous learning and growth mindset.
Earlier in her HSBC journey, she served for about two years as AVP Talent Acquisition, leading recruiting for major business and function lines in India. This phase strengthened her grounding in end-to-end talent strategy, workforce alignment, and enterprise hiring priorities for complex banking and markets environments.
Prior to joining HSBC, Udita Agarwal worked with Axis Bank for around two years as Campus Program Manager – Talent & OD, where she led management trainee and internship programs and supported branding initiatives. She also began her professional journey in technology, working for nearly three years as a Senior Software Engineer at Atos, and completed a summer internship with L&T, reflecting an early blend of tech and people capability exposure that adds depth to her current business-consulting-oriented HR mandate.
